To know or to know
We strive to know, and in our learning to become right.
We forget to know, and from that familiarity to become good.
We brandish our insight as our saber,
Ready to do battle,
To brand our foes like cattle,
To burn into their hides our truth.
Would that we would conocer; Would seek out in love, Would rank their souls above The ranking of “winner” and “loser.”
For as our sabers rattle, As we charge into battle, Our steel is just a noisy gong And a clanging cymbal.
