Thrasher's call (or fauna)
Part of November PAD 2024
A thrasher’s call is made of sounds the bird has heard and loved; it finds delight in its surrounds, and sings of all its favorites found, whether doorbell-chimes or doves.
This, I think, is why they are my favorite little birds; They have this trait we humans share: we too are shaped as we observe and form our songs from what we’ve heard, whether apathy or care.
Would that my heart would wear brown wings, and ears that take delight so readily, that when I sing my own life-song, it would ring of better things, and light.
