In god we trust

I do not know the words to break that spell which casts its bitter pall across your sight, and turns your joys towards warring flames of hell, and renders boring Heaven’s mercy-light—

I do not know the words. I’ve sought them so; I’ve sounded fact and parable alike, and aggregated all, in hopes to show God’s Kingdom looking unlike earthly Reichs.

But Reichs you crave – their cruelty and force employed against “the godless” – all your fears: the foreigner, the widow, and, of course, anyone whose pain brings “liberal tears.”

But maybe I can’t change your spellbound mind; if nothing’s so severe it breaks your heart— if murder, rape, and lies don’t cross your line— then maybe Jesus bored you from the start.

Maybe retribution, rage, and lust for unchecked power, dominance, and pride, were always “god” in your “in god we trust”, and what you meant by “god is on our side “

So…I don’t think I recognize your god. My God seems just as much unknown to you. Your god demands more sacrifices’ blood; my God already gave His blood for you.
